Kevin Nguyen is a Partner at Morgan & Leahy, where he defends employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in all aspects of workers’ compensation defense, including Labor Code §132a claims.

Before joining Morgan & Leahy, Mr. Nguyen was an Attorney at a workers’ compensation defense firm representing insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers for Fortune 500 companies statewide on complex and high-exposure cases. Mr. Nguyen has zealously advocated for clients at all California Workers' Compensation Appeals Boards. This experience is invaluable as every WCAB has different local rules and procedures.

 

Before becoming a defense attorney, Mr. Nguyen was an applicant’s attorney, settling hundreds of cases and representing union workers, including teachers, nurses, and police officers. This thorough knowledge of both sides allows Mr. Nguyen to prevent cases from reaching life pension and 100 percent disability.

Mr. Nguyen graduated with honors from the University of California, Riverside with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Cum Laude, in Political Science with a specialization in Law and Society. He received his Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School, where he was in the SCALE Honors Program and was admitted to the California Bar at 23.

During law school, Mr. Nguyen served as a Certified Law Clerk for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office and was the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Clinic director. He also served as a Judicial Intern at the Los Angeles Superior Court for the Honorable Ross M. Klein.

Mr. Nguyen speaks fluent Vietnamese and conversational Spanish.
